Designed to disrupt and neutralize Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) engaged in hostile airborne surveillance and potentially malicious activity.

The AUDS system combines electronic-scanning radar target detection, electro-optical (EO) tracking, classification and directional RF inhibition capability. AUDS is a smart-sensor and effector package capable of remotely detecting small UAS and then tracking and classifying them before providing the option to disrupt their activity. The system may be used in remote or urban areas to prevent UAS being used for terrorist attacks, espionage or other malicious activities against sites with critical infrastructure.

AUDS is currently deployed with US forces and has numerous confirmed defeats, or kills, of enemy UAS in theatre.

AUDS is likely to be an integral part of a wider networked surveillance and defense system. Its soft kill capabilities make it a very attractive option for both military, internal and border security forces. Where the situation demands restraint under provocation and where active, yet discrete, deterrence is required, AUDS delivers a very powerful message. The system can be operated from both fixed locations and from a mobile platform, where mobility offers both flexibility and protection.

AUDS - DETECT to DEFEAT in 10 to 15 sec

Countering the threat caused by rogue drones is now a global issue and an increasing concern for the military, government and homeland security forces across every continent. It is expected that unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) will be used increasingly for malicious purposes as they can carry cameras, weapons, toxic chemicals and explosives and are being used increasingly for terrorism, espionage and smuggling purposes. Utilising robust battle proven technology from Blighter Surveillance Systems, Chess Dynamics and Enterprise Control Systems, this fully integrated mission-deployed TRL-9 rated system, can detect, track and defeat a drone in approximately 15 seconds at a range of up to 10 km (6 miles). The AUDS system detects the drone using state-of-the-art electronic scanning micro-Doppler radar, tracks it using high precision infrared and daylight cameras and advanced video tracking software, before using a non-kinetic radio frequency (RF) inhibitor to defeat the drone. Using AUDS, an operator can effectively take control of the drone and force a safe landing.

Mobile Application of AUDS system (M-AUDS)

M-AUDS – Liteye’s cutting edge AUDS counter-drone system has been enhanced for deployment on semi-portable containers and on a range of vehicles for quick deployment and to provide Detect-Track-Identify-Defeat capability against malicious drones. AUDS integrates the Blighter Surveillance Systems A400 Series Ku-band electronic scanning air security radar, Chess Dynamics’ stabilised electro-optic director, infrared and daylight cameras and target tracking software, and a directional radio frequency (RF) inhibitor from Enterprise Control Systems to detect, track, classify, disrupt and defeat UAVs at ranges of up to 10km.

Stationary Application of AUDS System

The AUDS system has proved to be highly effective against swarm attacks and has successfully defeated approaching 2,000 drone sorties and been tested against more than 60 types of drone including fixed wing and quadcopters. The team recognise that co-ordinated swarm attacks are increasing – particularly in the military sector – so its engineers have been working on algorithms and techniques improving the AUDS system’s capability to defeat these multi-drone attack scenarios. It is designed for countering drones or remotely piloted aircraft systems in remote border areas, at key infrastructure sites such as airports, airfields, nuclear power stations and oil refineries, or for protecting political or sporting events in urban areas. It can be operated from fixed locations and from mobile platforms.

Field Application of AUDS System

AUDS detects a drone using the electronic scanning micro-Doppler radar, tracks it using a precision controlled infrared and daylight camera system incorporating advanced video tracking software before using a non-kinetic radio frequency (RF) inhibitor to defeat the drone. Using AUDS, the operator can effectively disrupt the function of a drone enforcing an invisible impenetrable barrier. The AUDS system is designed and built to the highest military standards and has been extensively field proven in harsh operational environments.
