- Fidelity is hiring about 2,000 people in locations around the country, including Colorado. They’ve seen unprecedented levels of inquiries from clients and will be adding associates to continue to meet their needs. - Turbine Labs, located in Greenwood Village, is providing their services pro-bono on the corona virus. “As critical decisions are rarely made on an island, the data used to make them shouldn’t be either. - Douglas County’s Aytu BioScience received FDA clearance to begin distribution of its COVID-2019 IgG/IgM Rapid Test throughout the United States. The test is intended for professional use and delivers results between 2 and 10 minutes at the point-of-care. They have 100,000 test kits on hand for shipment to customers with another 500,000 anticipated soon. www.aytubio.com
- At the end of March, defense contractor Liteye, located in Centennial and Douglas County, was awarded an additional $3M in orders from the US government to help protect the country’s critical defense assets during the COVID pandemic. - Cherry Creek Schools have responded to a request from the Anschutz Medical Campus and are using their 3-D printers to produce the framework for protective medical masks. - Lone Tree Feeds has raised more than $20,000 — in less than a week — to provide free meals to workers on the front line of the coronavirus pandemic.“We were just shocked that this has all happened in less than a week in terms of getting it off the ground,” said Julie Britti, one of the residents leading this campaign. “In that time, we have had over 100 donors helping us purchase these meals.” For the full story visit: https://denver.cbslocal.com/2020/04/14/coronavirus-lone-tree-feeds-raises-free-meals-first-responders/
- Comcast has put in place multiple COVID-19 actions, releasing a comprehensive response to the National Emergency including making public WiFi hotspots free for everyone, pausing data plans, and committing to no disconnects or late fees for 60 days. Internet Essentials speeds increased to 25/3 Mbps and all new customers applying by April 30th can receive two months of free service.
