With all the current uncertainty and change, it’s easy to get caught up in the anxiety of the world around us. If you look closely enough, though, you’ll see there’s a distinct signal of positivity buried in all the negative noise. It’s important now, more than ever, to keep an eye out for the good that is happening. 

Here are just a few of the positive news items coming out of our community in recent weeks. We hope they give your day a boost.

  • Fidelity is hiring about 2,000 people in locations around the country, including Colorado.  They’ve seen unprecedented levels of inquiries from clients and will be adding associates to continue to meet their needs.  To that end, they will be hosting a virtual open house in Denver on Tuesday, April 21 to provide info to potential candidates.   • Turbine Labs, located in Greenwood Village, is providing their services pro-bono on the corona virus. “As critical decisions are rarely made on an island, the data used to make them shouldn’t be either.   • Douglas County’s Aytu BioScience received FDA clearance to begin distribution of its COVID-2019 IgG/IgM Rapid Test throughout the United States. The test is intended for professional use and delivers results between 2 and 10 minutes at the point-of-careThey have 100,000 test kits on hand for shipment to customers with another 500,000 anticipated soon. www.aytubio.com

  • Comcast has put in place multiple COVID-19 actions, releasing a comprehensive response to the National Emergency including making public WiFi hotspots free for everyone, pausing data plans, and committing to no disconnects or late fees for 60 days. Internet Essentials speeds increased to 25/3 Mbps and all new customers applying by April 30th can receive two months of free service.
